Jordbær is an oil find located in the North Tampen basin of the Norwegian Northern North Sea in 410m of water depth. The project is currently in the concept selection stage with sanction planned to occur at the end of 2010. The lead concept is a series of sub-sea tie-backs to a FPSO. Our client are undertaking tendering exercise during 2010 which will effectively take the form of a design competition between 2 or 3 FPSO contractors with a final selection being targeted for the end of 2010. The Project Engineers are responsible for assisting the Engineering Manager in the coordination of specific multi-discipline engineering activities within the Project Team. During the tender phase the position holders will each be located at a contractor location and will facilitate technical communication between the Project Team and the individual Contractors in conjunction with the Project C amp P Team. There will be one BG Project Engineer per competing contractor during the design competition phase. One the final contractor selection has been made the Project Engineers will continue in a co-ordination and interface management role with specific duties and responsibilities being further define prior to execution phase. The main purpose of the role is to help the FPSO contractors present the best technical proposal for Jordbær by facilitating the communication between client and the contractors. Key Accountabilities 183 Interface with FPSO Contractors to ensure arrangements for review meetings are in place 183 Co-ordinate flow of technical information between project team and contractor 183 Demonstrate visible leadership and commitment to excellent HSSE performance in support of the Project Managers accountabilities. 183 Participate in the tender review process 183 Provide a summary of the their experience during the Jordbær design competition to assist transfer of lessons to the rest of the project team 183 Provide guidance to any junior client Engineers for Jordbær who may also be located in the FPSO contractor premises during the design competition phase 183 And in a leadership role of the Project Team be pro-active in performing any tasks necessary to make the Jordbaer project a success. Unique Knowledge Skills Experience and Attribute Experience Needed The Project Engineers should possess the following 183 Have extensive experience in the Oil and Gas Industry especially in floating systems and subsea facilities but not necessarily solely in the design function. 183 Demonstrable commitment to continuous HSSE incorporation into all aspects of design and improvement 183 Experience of project life cycle from concept development through to execution. 183 Strong experience of being a client representative at a contractor location 183 Technical professional with wide exposure to diverse technical and business environments. 183 Able to manage interfaces and work closely alongside project and operations teams during FEED detailed design and construction. 183 Able to advise and steer business commercial aspects and has a full understanding of strategic considerations. 183 Able to manage activities with significant uncertainty of solution or outcome. OTHER REQUIREMENTS The post holder will be qualified to degree level with extensive experience of the safe management of civil works terracing construction and installation operations. Interact with supply chain team members so that materials items are released to allow them to be procured in a timely manner. Provide Technical support to manufacturing. Interact with R D projects so that the future product requirements are met in full. Act as technical leader as required and permitted by personal skills base. To work wherever possible with existing designs in order that engineering time is at a minimum. COMPETENCE REQUIREMENTS QUALIFICATIONS Essential Degree HND HNC in related discipline or equivalent. SPECIFIC TRAINING SPECIALIST SKILLS Essential Working knowledge of MathCAD or similar analysis package. Preferred Must have a proven involvement with multi-disciplined Projects and be familiar with equipment and activities throughout all levels of business.
