Location Shenzhen China Type Contract POSITION SCOPE Our Client is currently looking for a Senior Business Analyst to act as the front line tax adviser for China Finance on all tax matters related to the various local China tax bureaus PriceWaterhouseCoopers PWC Beijing and the Tax department in Calgary. In this role you will be the Client business lead on major business system enhancement projects in collaboration with international consultants e.g. Accenture PWC etc . You will be the lead representative in all matters related to external audits specifically covering the annual PwC statutory audit Tax Audits and Joint Venture Audit. You will also exercise governance over the Logistics department in respect of compliance with inventory policies and procedures to ensure our client s inventory is properly managed and safeguarded. You will support New Business Development initiatives by providing key Finance Economics and Tax expertise analysis in determining final investment decisions. You will lead Focused Results Delivery Projects to support cost savings and to streamline existing business processes. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES Ensure timely booking of inventory valuation results disposal stock count difference etc Participate in Customs management to ensure duty payable balance is accurate and reliable and that the Company properly complies with Customs procedures in accordance with the law Ensure a robust control system set up in the inventory management process Perform monthly reconciliation with Logistics on inventory account Track client duty exemption application status on regular basis and adjust duty payable accounts accordingly Keep abreast of customs duty policy updates from headquarters and general customs in Beijing Work with Logistics to track duty-free quota usage on monthly basis Provide Materials Management system training to warehouse personnel as required Keep close contact with PWC Beijing for tax advice on our business in order to ensure compliance to the local regulation and to minimise tax burden Ensure you receive reliable in-time and high quality tax advisory services from PWC Beijing Keep abreast of the new tax policies and provide analysis on the tax impact on our business Keep Calgary tax team updated on China taxation activities and seek for their advice to ensure China operation in line with corporate taxation policy Keep communication channel with tax bureau clear and efficient Coordinate tax audits initiated by tax bureau and follow up on the findings and solutions Work with Financial Controller to solve ad-hoc tax issues and build economic models by utilising all the resources available Perform routine independent audits on the Client Senior Tax Accountant s work Coordinate external audits including the statutory audits Joint Venture audits and tax audits ensuring they are efficient and that clear communication channels exist between our client and outside auditors Represent our Client in discussion of all matters related to external audits Act as the focal point for our client in all government reporting and information disclosures Support new business development opportunities and answer ad-hoc queries from other departments by doing research and providing key Finance and Tax expertise analysis Support in economic analysis for new projects in the determination of final investment decisions EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS A Bachelor s Degree in Accounting or a related field is required. You will review requisitions for major items of equipment package unit and major bulk materials. You will review all major drawings and Specification prior to forwarding to Client for approval and before release for fabrication or construction.
