Our Client is an operating company active in Egypt and is seeking a qualified expatriate warehouse professional with 15 years experience to work as the Deputy Warehouse General Manager. Needs to be EU resident due to visa issues The position will work closely with all field operating functions to insure application of best practices for material storage handling and tracking. The expatriate position will be on a 28 28 rotation basis and will be located in a remote field site in the western desert of Egypt. Reporting Line Reporting to the Deputy Field Manager Work closely with Joint Venture Counterpart Manager Responsibilities 1. Act as Client prime representative in the Base Warehouse. 2. Materials supply and actioning technical expediting requests to maintain continued production. 3. Oversee handling of stock and assets with regard to materials storage and warehousing. 4. Develop and maintain systems and procedures to meet Operations and Projects Material needs while minimizing stock levels. 5. Continually review all storage areas with assistance from concerned technical departments determine all items that should receive special storage consideration amp implement such storage. 6. Scope plan and initiate covered storage warehousing projects with Activity Requisitions issued to the Projects group. 7. Recommend evaluate amp drive IT improvements in the warehouse operations that would improve efficiencies and positively support and impact Operations such as Catalogue Refinement and overhaul Bin Location system to move toward supermarket style efficiencies like bar coding and scanning. 8. Act as the prime focal point for expediting missing or delayed materials. In this capacity extensive contact with the Production and Operating groups on location is required continually liaise with Cairo Materials Purchasing department on such issues. 9. Participate in warehouse stock audits and act on recommendations from such audits to further streamline warehouse operations and reporting processes. 10. Recommend and justify change initiatives in the warehouse operations that will positively support and impact Apache s production and project initiatives. 11. Review monitor day to day warehouse transactions via the Oracle System. 12. Mentor and develop supervisory warehouse and yard staff to continuously improve work processes and systems. Coach junior warehouse staff to improve work methods and output. 13. Initiate process improvement and management of inbound receiving put-away issuing and inventory control practices. 14. Work with HSE Division to improve safe warehouse and storage practices with particular attention to handling and storage of chemicals. Assist in maintaining the security and safety of the warehouse. 15. Work with Drilling Dept. to set up proper storage and handling systems for Tubulars and Casing. 16. Provide advice and recommendations for purchase or rental of equipment to improve materials handling and safe work practice. 17. Undertake activities and steps to centralize all warehouse activities with only minimal stock points at other locations. 18. Liaise with department heads to ensure the coordination of warehouse activities meet with their service levels and handling procedure standards. Steer change to meet service levels. 19. Generally assess all logistical movements of materials and make recommendations to change for better efficiency and reduce handling steps and time. 20. Where practical work with the Transportation Group and related contractors to ensure best lifting practices for handling all materials.
