Road Safety Advisor Job PurposeTo provide professional advice and assistance with developing policies procedures and delivering training for the benefit of the company and its contractors in relation to road safety. Key Result AreasSurvey review to evaluate and develop transport operationsAssess Defensive Driver Training of Bus and Heavy Vehicle Drivers and verify their certification and evaluate their reported experience. Evaluate that drivers are appropriately licensed and experienced to safely and competently operate the vehicle under their charge through observation and general review and that they adequately comply with the requirements of the tasks being undertaken their driving habits confirm to the work procedures tasks are being conducted in a safe manner. Evaluate equipment and vehicles are in a safe condition inspected pursuant to company and manufacturer requirements maintained in accordance with company and manufacturer requirements properly used in manner and for the tasks for which they were designed registered with valid and current certification of the vehicle. Assesses inspection and maintenance systems. Evaluate that there exists adequate equipment radios light batons etc. to effectively communicate among members of the transport department and that communication practices are effective. Evaluate that there exists adequate emergency breakdown equipment first aid equipment and warning equipment allocated and available in each vehicle considering its size and role. Assess whether equipment illumination provides adequate light for safe operations in areas where lighting is poor or not available. Check for non-approved modifications made to equipment for evidence of non-repaired damages and faults or inadequately repaired damages and faults that can affect the safety and operability of vehicles and or personnel. Assesses the materials used to operate and maintain equipment lubricants etc as being suitable for the local environment and service evaluate the existence and implementation of any manufacturer recommended special precautions for the safety of care of the vehicle in this harsh use environment. Review and develop operating procedures and practices road safety manual etc. Ensuring alignment with requirements. Review effective utilisation of IVMS and recommend improvements develop a MVA incident reporting and investigation procedure utilizing IVMS data.Complete a root cause analysis of MVA s within the plant area and develop a RasGas Driver Licensing Scheme. Advise and assist the company with complying with the RLIC secure access and traffic reduction charter. Knowledge Skills and Experience Bachelor s degree with appropriate transport safety system experience Extensive experience with transport operations construction equipment and field experience with demonstrated advisory and supervisory skills Knowledge and experience of safe drive IVMS equipment and web services Experience with government agencies contractors and vendors in particular those involved in the transport industry Excellent understanding of road safety requirements Intec UK Ltd was established in 1982 by Engineers for Engineers.
