Responsibilities To support the Group Exploration team by building a capex opex and production profile database of current and potential future exploration projects in the core areas of the Client s operations. To offer facilities advice cost estimates and associated production profiles of onshore and offshore developments in the Africa and Asia regions. To keep abreast of market activities facilities concepts and external contractor costs and availability associated with all of the client s areas of operations. To support all aspects of the client s engineering team functional responsibilities. Ensure that the client s is using the very best estimates of capital and operating cost projections in its evaluation of exploration and development opportunities. Experience Qualifications Degree qualified engineer chartered status beneficial. Experience in developing oil and gas projects with emphasis on offshore platform and sub-sea developments and onshore remote gas and oil developments. Experience of engineering lifecycle phases specifically feasibility concept selection and preferably FEED commission and operations. Good understanding of the facilities costs involved in all phases of project development and production operations and the likely ranges that these costs could encompass. Working knowledge of exploration and reservoir engineering activities in particular the association between facilities and drilling capex and opex and production profiles and reservoir deliverability. Experience of conceptual project development through to project sanction hence able to provide technical costing and schedule definition direction for projects to allow evaluation of project economics - ideally this should have been derived from working for an oil company contractor in a Study or Engineering management role. Should have experience to effectively use project development tools such as Questor. Have a sound understanding of current safety and environmental practices. Demonstrates creative and lateral thinking. Able to quickly establish good relationships with a number of the client s personnel in a multi-office environment and maintain these relationships at a high level. Regularly travel to other client office locations to keep aware of ongoing development and exploration opportunities. Able to concurrently run several projects prioritising as required. Regularly consult sources of knowledge and excellence and seek outside assistance when required. Sets high standards for technical work and presentation of results. Good understanding of all aspects of the costs of constructing oil and gas facilities and of the operating costs of such facilities over field lifecycles. Good understanding of commercial aspects of oil and gas developments. Knowledge of subsurface aspects of oil and gas developments and of the drilling and completion requirements for such developments. Awareness related to the oil gas industry in general and in the construction and management of contractual relationships. The salary for this position is negotiable.
