The successful applicant will be responsible for both appraisal and development oriented geological assessments. The initial area of responsibility is a large 5500 km2 operated block containing two producing oil fields operated by the company with total gross production in excess of 20 000 bopd. For the appraisal development function the incumbent will provide and maintain sound geological models structural and or stratigraphic and prepare integrated geological interpretations for the purpose of planning designing and optimizing well drilling programs field development plans as well as reserve and economic evaluations. This will include direction of the creation of 3D static models for use in reservoir management. Successful applicants will be expected to work closely with team geophysicists petrophysicists and reservoir engineers to integrate seismic petrophysical and engineering data into the overall geological model. The work scope will generally encompass 183 Creation and compilation of geologic interpretation products maps cross-sections block diagrams in order to illustrate key components of the producing fields 183 Assembly and preparation of reservoir rock characterisation for static reservoir models. Close interaction with the Petroleum Engineering function for construction and updates of the field static models. 183 Evaluation of uncertainty ranges for resource reserve estimation delivery of resource reserve estimates 183 Coordination of development appraisal well planning. 183 Coordination of updates to field development plans. 183 Coordinating the planning and compilation of geological operations programmes for appraisal and development wells 183 Coordinating the compilation of end of well reports 183 Ensure the integrity of the field database. 183 Coordination of the production of technical materials for presentation at Joint Venture Advisory Operating or Technical Committee meetings 183 Operational activities will require close liaison with the drilling and completions team. Coordination of technical studies from service groups both internally and externally and consultants will be required. It is critical that the candidate is not only self motivated but also an excellent communicator and team player. The candidate will be required to prepare and deliver oral and written presentations to senior company and joint venture management as well as senior government officials.
