Some of the duties and responsibilities will include Reports directly to the VP Operations on aspects relating to safety of navigation certification and safety related observations. Overall responsibility for all operational activities including vessel deployment also for all equipment onboard the vessel and marine assets. Ensures that the vessel s are maintained in accordance with the International and Flag State Rules and regulations keep up with international regulations amendments as applicable. Ensures that Statutory and Classification Surveys for vessels are carried out on the appropriate dates. Establish and maintain adequate safe management practice and system in compliance with ISM Code. Revises supports ship s requisitions and recommends appropriate quotations with respect to required specifications approval quality credentials delivery time and to coordinate closely with the Technical Superintendent on spare parts requisitions to support timely supply. Ensures that vessels nautical publication and chart are kept updated. Controls and checks certificates of candidates for marine crew positions as being in compliance with the STCW 95 Convention Requirements to ensure manning of vessels with adequately qualified personnel. For the recruitment of crew members through other organizations agent see SMS Sec.6. Inspects vessels as per the requirements of the SMS Procedures and submit report. Ensuring that vessels under the company s management are maintained as per Flag State and Classification Society Rules applicable International Regulations and the SMS Operating Procedures. Keeps record of vessels specification date plans drawings and technical manuals and where applicable must keep such documents updated as per the latest. Controls vessels maintenance record and monitor incoming technical reports from vessels. Inspect vessels as per the requirements of the SMS Operating Procedures and submit reports to the Fleet Technical Manager. Checking ships requisition orders and forward such orders to the CEO for approval with recommendations as for the urgency status.
